SOM KONG is a contemporary Toronto brand, with his own namesake label SOM KONG. His approach to apparel and accessories play off themes of duality, often with a dark fashion approach.

Early in his adolescence, Som Kong grew up watching his mother sew, who worked as a seamstress for Levi’s. Early on, he decided he would live and breathe for the craft.

Attending Ryerson University, Kong showcased his final year collection in the school’s annual Mass Exodus showcase in 2014.  He was selected top of his peers and awarded the Alfred Sung award for Best Production.

Immediately out of design school, Kong was selected to compete in the nation-wide competition for Toronto’s first Men’s Fashion Week. He was then invited by THE COLLECTIONS to showcase at World MasterCard Fashion Week.
